An Introduction to carpet stylistics In researches in the field of carpet history in Iran, ostensible aspects of carpet, such as figure, color and theme and their evolution haven't been considered. Most of the researches about carpet history, has been done by European researchers. They have started to research from the late 19th century. In these researches, the date and time was considered more than the other aspects. The researchers searched the origin of the carpet; some of them considered the nomadic Turkmens as the innovators of carpet and some of the considered the Parthian tribes as the innovators. In surveys about eastern carpets, carpet plans and analysis of their themes, were the base classification, in addition to the time of carpet weaving.
